Day 21 of coding

This is Cody Rigsby, my favorite Peloton instructor. At this moment of the climb, he is saying: “I’m struggling too, B****h!”

I like Cody the most because he makes me laugh out loud every single class. He is super opinionated and not afraid to share his thoughts on Brittany vs. Taylor or the struggles he goes through. It’s like chatting with a girlfriend and a therapist at the same time.

My first minor struggle this week in the coding journey was figuring out how to get water to these carrots, and only the carrots. It seems so obvious now but I was stuck here for a good head-scratching minute.

From there I learned that the picture I included in last week’s post is a renowned painting by the artist Piet Mondrian. He used Flexbox and Grid to “paint” this, the original sold for $50.6M. Here is me troubleshooting the .container to justify-content to the center of the screen. Finally got it.

Now onto the good part.

For project this week, I made a website for TinDog, as in Tinder for dogs. Instructor’s idea, not mine :) She supplied the cool gradient background. I learned how to apply .svg and used Bootstrap for the hero, feature, pricing and footer sections. Such a game changer, I can’t believe it’s free!

Then it got even easier with Canva, also free. They’ll even host up to five sites for you with the free version. Look at those Serif fonts, giving off sense of tradition.

JavaScript is next on the learning journey. Tag along for more struggles and victories!
